How billing works
- Do you require a deposit?
- Osmium invoices 50% before work starts and 50% on delivery for one-time projects. Monthly retainers are billed at the start of each cycle. The timeline only begins once the first payment clears and the required inputs are in hand.
- What is not included in these prices?
- Stock photography, custom illustration, paid font licenses, third-party app subscriptions, and hosting are billed at cost and quoted before purchase. Osmium never marks up a license without telling the client first.
- Can I pay in installments?
- Yes, on the Alloy Build. The $4,500 USD fee can be split across three monthly payments of $1,500 USD, with the site launching after the final payment. Core Build and Shopify projects are billed in two parts.
- What happens if the scope changes mid-project?
- Osmium quotes the addition as a separate line item before starting it, so the original price never moves without written approval. Two revision rounds per stage are included in every package.
Still deciding between a studio and an agency?
Osmium is a boutique studio, which is the right fit for some projects and the wrong one for others. A studio wins on cost, on speed, and on direct access to the person doing the design. It loses when a brand needs a media buying team, a six-market rollout, or procurement terms that only a larger balance sheet can carry. The comparison page lays out both sides across cost, speed, access, scope, and fit, including the cases where Osmium is the wrong choice.
